With the goal of serving a nourishing meal to the clients, we were excited to contribute to the invaluable work being done by this Christian-based ministry, which focuses on serving the recovery community. Little did we know that the evening would leave an indelible mark on our hearts, with unforgettable moments of connection and joy.

Winston Salem, NC - Rominger Southern Furniture Company has been a trusted provider of quality home decor and furnishings in the Winston Salem community for over 120 years. The company was founded by three men as a partnership in 1900 known as Rominger & Crim. Later, it was known as Rominger & Blackburn, and in 1910, it was solely owned by Mr. Charles Rominger. After his passing in 1949, his only child Elizabeth was elected chairman of the board, and together with her husband, J. Wilson Cuningham, they operated the store as chief officers for over 40 years. With Sally German's passing and the COVID pandemic's toll on sales, Rominger will be closing its doors.

Dr. Slate graduated from the University of Cape Town medical school in 1947, completed his internship in Cape Town and Durban, and then worked at Johannesburg Mission Hospital before spending a year in Lesotho. He also worked at New York University, George Washington University, and the Veteran's Administration. He was known in our community as Mayor Dr. Francis Slate, having served as the mayor of Mocksville for several years.
